Today I’m talking about a fresh, fabulous and necessary app for the on-the-go gal.  Ladies, I introduce, Vênsette, an at-home hair and makeup service, where you can choose your look, schedule an appointment, and voila (!!), a personal hair and makeup artist will appear at your doorstep.  Appointments start at $150 - and given most professional artists start around $800, this will save you a buck (or many).

I recently took a dive into the Vênsette world, starting by downloading the app.  I have to say, wow!  When running to an event after work, specifically one that calls for a style-boost, many of us don’t have time to be 'red-carpet' ready.  I mean, when you work full-time, who does?  CEO and Founder, Lauren Remington Platt launched Vênsette with this idea in mind, after years of working in finance.  'Going from the office after work, I found that I was more excited about getting my hair and makeup done than I was about ordering a new dress or a new pair of shoes,' Ms. Platt said in a recent interview with Fashionista.  'If you wanted to get your makeup done, you had to travel to one of the few places in the city that did it -- and nothing was close by.'

Vênsette allows the consumer a customized luxury of having a make-up artist or hair stylist come to you, at a fraction of what other artists may cost.  'We’re mobilizing our army of artists,' Platt explained in another recent interview with Style.com, further catering to the needs of her consumer who is 'on the go.'  Much like say, Uber, Vênsette provides the customer an easy-access, right-to-your-door type of convenience that is hard to achieve in a city like New York.  When time is of the essence, Vênsette’s got you covered.

In addition to the convenience of this app, it also provides a robust menu of various looks to choose from with both hair and makeup styles.  For makeup, you could be bright-eyed Grace Kelly for the evening, or Cleopatra with a dark smoky look, or perhaps you just want a sun-kissed beach glow for a garden party.  For hair, you can choose from looks such as: the TriBeca (versatile yet striking), or the Audrey (a low chignon), or perhaps the Siren (a sexy set of loose curls).  The menu shows models with the looks, so you can get a clean and clear view of what you’d look like.

As for the paying part, it couldn’t be more simple.  It’s like hitting the 'book' button on OpenTable or the 'pay' option on Seamless.  Simply book, choose your time, add your location, insert promo code (if you’re lucky!), and add any notes (maybe you want to remind them of your dress color?).  Appointments start at $150, which isn’t cheap, but when compared to hiring other professional artists, this will certainly save you time, energy and money.  If you’re going to hire a professional make-up artist or hair stylist, this is a great (and cost-effective) way to look fabulous in a dash.

All in all, I enjoyed my initial experience with the Vênsette app.  As someone who books appointments and pays bills in a taxi or while walking to work, this is a great app for women to make life for the city gal on the go simpler.  We’ll always need our beauty rest, darlings, but Vênsette is making us feel much more relaxed in the process.
