    Hi bSmart ladies!
I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful summer weather!
I recently sought career advice from an awesome bSmart member who suggested that I make a Pinterest account and pin pictures regarding the lifestyle I am interested in. I highly recommend using this website because it personally helped organize my ideas electronically without wasting paper as well as open myself up to new ideas. Whether it is deciding what you want to pursue professionally, what vacation you want, or even hair ideas (especially me), using Pinterest can help facilitate your decision.

Please feel free to look over my Pinterest account for any inspiration and comment below what you use Pinterest for! Thanks and have a lovely week!

    Hi bSmart ladies!

I recently came across an article called ‘Black Panther’ Director Ryan Coogler Would Love to Make a Spinoff About the Women of Wakanda on Cosmopolitan.com. I would absolutely love to see a spinoff movie about the women of Wakanda! The director gave appreciation and praise to the amazing women who starred in the February box-office hit, Black Panther. During the movie, while Wakanda was under siege from the antagonist when the the main male character was gone, various women held the palace down and were “carrying the movie” as protectors of the land.

Seeing those powerful women take on leadership positions really inspired me to take on meaningful activities in my own daily life such as take on the roles as a mentor to incoming freshman as well as a tutor for middle school students and more. I believe that every woman has the potential to do anything they put their minds to and make a difference. I would absolutely love to see a spinoff movie about the women of Wakanda! Definitely check out this article!

How do you make a difference in the lives of others?

    Hi everyone!

My name is Christine and I am a Marketing and PR Intern for bSmart.

I am looking for some professional advice about choosing a career path.

I am a Sophomore, and I am a Business Administration major with concentrations in Finance and Marketing at UAlbany. I absolutely love my Economics, Business Law, Calculus and Creative Writing classes and find them fascinating. I also love to read and write as well as analyze numbers.

I'm not sure if I want to pursue a career in Finance/ Marketing / and or Law. I find all 3 fields interesting, and I am interested in doing internships in these respective fields. However, I keep having doubts about I really want to pursue.

Do you have any advice for my path to career discovery?

    Thank you all so much!

  • Hey bSmart Ladies!

Happy Thursday! #ThankfulThursday It is always important to take time out of our busy days to acknowledge all the great things that we all have in our lives, and show appreciation for the lives we lead.

I am so thankful that I have my family and friends supporting me through all my endeavors, I am lucky enough to be able to be currently receiving a college education from the University at Albany as a first generation student and that I can make a positive difference in the lives of others through community service.

What are you thankful for? Comment below!

    Hey bSmart ladies!
When I was a mere 15 years old, I witnessed the CW show “Jane the Virgin” for the first time on Netflix. My jaw dropped! It is an absolutely amazing show that focuses on the hectic lives of a family of Latina women in Miami, Florida. This show discussed various topics such as sexuality, cultural stigmas, family, and women in society. As a Hispanic woman myself, I couldn’t count the number of times that I related to the rising issues of the main characters.
The star of the show, Gina Rodriguez, is not only an actress and a director but an activist herself. From the #metoo march to being a board member of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to leading recovery efforts in the Puerto Rico, she always wants to give back to the community. The Chicago Native features people on social media who have made a movement, which inspired me to create this post.

Ms. Rodriguez inspires me to go after my dreams and push barriers everyday because there is no limit for what women can do in this world.
Comment below a woman who is your role model!!

    Hey bSmart ladies!

In my college dorm this past semester, I had a dry-erase board that hanged on my wall. I originally purchased it with the intention of writing down all my homework assignments for the week in an organized matter where I could see it everyday. I thought it would be a helpful reminder as to what I should be remembering what to do as organize is one of my musts.
However, after 3 days, it started to intimidate me....having that dry-erase board in my room was a constant reminder of all the work I had yet to do, and that there was a never ending amount of work to be done. I would often wake up in the middle of the night and have that thing staring at me. It was getting ridiculous.
One afternoon after I had a rough day in classes (where my professor kept picking me for the questions that none of 200 students in my classroom apparently knew), I walked into my room to see the board. I immediately grabbed it and waved the eraser, wiping away all the writing. All of a sudden, I just wrote down my favorite quote with a maker: Never give up! I thought nothing of it. But over the course of that week, seeing that quote gave me comfort and inspiration. Every week I started to change my quote things such as You can do it, Be your best and Everything happens for a reason, and before I realized, it was a norm for me.
If I can provide any tip to a busy, stressed out college student or a full-time working woman is that you should have an inspirational quote hanging on the wall or somewhere you could see it everyday! For me, it changed my perspective on everything that was happening, and gave me
a more positive outlook! Finding a way to deal with your daily stressors helps you achieve your full potential.
