Countless runways are filled with models wearing pieces that seem familiar, probably because they’re pieces that were extremely popular decades ago.  Tabloids are letting out pictures of stars off-duty who are wearing clothes that make us feel nostalgic—tiny sunglasses, mom jeans, and denim on denim on denim.  Fashion today is pulling different trends from the 70s, 80s, and 90s and bringing them back to the forefront.  If you feel like trying to hop on the trend wagon, but want to make the trends seem fresh and more 2018, refer to some of these chic pieces!

These are great for casual everyday wear, and probably the most wearable of this style.  The looseness of them also makes them perfect for spring/summer transition.

I picture these being a smash at Sunday brunch.  I recommend pairing them with a cute rose pink top to bring out the colors of some of the flowers in a lowkey manner.

Beepbeepbeep, throwback alert!  Step out of your house fresh from the 70s with these fantastic flares fantastic flares.  A light-wash cropped denim jacket, white lace-up top, and some Lennon-style sunglasses would absolutely make this look.

The houndstooth print on these is super fun.  I suggest pairing them with a white crop top and black leather jacket. 80s rocker-chic never looked so good.

Pro-tip: Pair any of these with some cute chunky heels to up the 70s factor and give the swish of your flares some extra attention!

I love both of these for when your inner Twenty One Pilots emo phase is calling at you.  Pair them with a band tee and combat boots.

The return of fashions from earlier decades is fun and can inspire some strong nostalgia. The aesthetic of earlier times are appealing, and dressing in some of the fun fashions of those times provides a form of escapism and connection to earlier periods in history.  I hope this has been helpful in providing ways in which you can feel connected to other decades while still maintaining a cohesive, modern look.
