Fiancé Not Excited About Wedding Planning?

Question: How Can I make my fiance excited about wedding planning?
My initial reaction is: You can’t. You cannot MAKE someone excited about something. I suggest a different approach. Find what he is excited about with the wedding planning, no matter how small, no matter how minute or inconsequential it may seem, and be excited with him about that. Give him the space and freedom to be excited about what he naturally likes, and it may blossom into more.
Obviously, you may want to share every tiny thing you are excited about with him in the hopes that he’ll jump up and down and share in the moment—he might—but he also might not. And the pressure you put on the situation and on your partner may evolve into something else it doesn’t need to be.
Relationship Tip
If there is a way to incorporate the elements he is naturally excited about with wedding planning into other parts of the wedding (or even wedding conversation), do it! Be honest and be gentle. Planning a wedding well is all about keeping priorities straight. This is one day, one moment--albeit a very important one.
But what happens between the two of you throughout this process is far greater than the event. The way you handle the challenges of this period is setting a foundation for the years to come.
