Friend Advice: How to Deal with Friends and Competition

Friend Advice
If you aren’t competitive with your friends, but feel they’re competitive towards you, my friend advice is you have two options:
1) Don’t share vulnerable information with them if you know they can’t celebrate with you. It’s sad, but true, not everyone can or should be your best friend and maybe you need to create boundaries when it comes to certain friends for healthy relationships. If distancing yourself is not an option and you think your friend is capable of being the type of friend you need, then try option:
2) Tell them if something they’re saying or ignoring is hurting your feelings and explain you need their support during the bad times and the good. If you can’t have this type of mature conversation, revert to option 1.
If you feel competitive towards them then my advice is maybe the issue is you. Ask yourself why you’re jealous of your friends and why them having less would mean you have more (this of course isn’t the case). Once you realize where your jealousy is coming from, counter your feelings of jealousy this by singing their praises to them or others. You’ll start to believe the hype you’re building and your sense of competition will likely fade and experience healthy relationships with all your friends!
