2) How are you feeling right now: Excited! My dad is coming to visit me this weekend so I am looking forward to hanging out with him and having some quality family time away from my busy school routine.
3) Who are your role models and dream mentors, and if you like tell us why: When I was abroad in Indonesia last semester I stayed with an incredible homestay mother who took me in and made me feel like family. Her unconditional love and warmth, despite a language and culture barrier, is something I hope to forever remember and give to others in my life.
4) What motivates you to get out of bed: I have an app called The Shine that I open first thing in the morning. It sends a daily mindful moment to think about throughout the day. Highly recommend!
5) What is your dream career: I would love to get involved with a company that gives back as a part of their mission, or work in a position of social responsibility or philanthropy.
6) Where are you right now and where would you like to be in 10 years: I am currently in Los Angeles, and in 10 years I hope to still be in a city! I love LA but I think I would be happy in many places.
7) What skill would you like to master: Salsa dancing. I took a lesson with a friend last weekend and had so much fun.
Share something that you want other bSmart members to know about you: I recently became vegan for health reasons. I was sick abroad and when I came home I picked up the book Super Immunity. I've been following that diet (mostly!) since January.

2) How are you feeling right now: I am feeling great since it's weekend and I don't have a heavy workload.
3) Who are your role models and dream mentors, and if you like tell us why: My aunt has been my mentor for many years. She never hesitates to explore things and truly lives a life for her. She has a great sense of self-respect and also respect others. Her way of living and personality are something that I admire.
4) What motivates you to get out of bed: To be honest, when I have tons of work to do:)
5) What is your dream career: I am not completely sure about what I am going to do in the future, but I am interested in consulting or business in general.
6) Where are you right now and where would you like to be in 10 years: I am in NYC, and I would like to be in NYC or Singapore working.
7) What skill would you like to master: I want to learn Japanese since I love anime and Japanese manga.

2) How are you feeling right now: I am a little stressed out. I have a paper and a midterm due in one of my classes along with another quiz in my other class tomorrow. The paper is done and I have studied as best I can for the midterm and quiz, but I don't like having so much going on in one day.
3) Who are your role models and dream mentors, and if you like tell us why: My mom is a huge role model for me. She worked really hard to get to where she is and I'm proud of everything she has accomplished.
4) What motivates you to get out of bed: When I know I have something productive going on that day.
5) What is your dream career: Ideally it would be an editor of fiction books, wherever that is. I just love books and reading so if I could get paid to do that for the rest of my life I would be pretty happy.
6) Where are you right now and where would you like to be in 10 years: I am at college at Hofstra University, and in ten years I would like to be in NYC or Boston working for a publishing house.
7) What skill would you like to master: I am taking a sign language class next semester because I would really like to know sign language.

Sydney Taylor reacted to this post about 1 day agoSharing this gorgeous painting from the Philly Art Museum in honor of the fact that I made offical today my acceptance to start a Comparative Literature Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania in the fall. I am so looking forward to this new challenge and the wonderful opportunity to pursue my work on contemporary women's writing, femininity, and intersectionality.
"Portrait of Lucy Lewis" by Thomas Eakins represents my PhD project in a few ways: Lucy Lewis is a teacher and social advocate uplifting other women. While Eakins is known for brutual honesty in his paintings, he painted her in conventional ways to show her as beautiful and feminine. Angelina Eimannsberger reacted to this post about 3 days agoFemale confidence and capability is often labeled as being ‘bossy.’ This is a myth that needs to be debunked. bSmart women are guided by vision, purpose, and inner strength. Being empowered in your own strength is not a sign of being bossy or overbearing: it’s a sign of inner beauty and courage to stand up for who you are.
